Inside Romania's film archives, thousands of 35mm reels hold stories that have never been seen on a screen outside a projection booth. DCANF, initiated by the Romanian National Film Archive, is a four-year undertaking to change that: digitizing the entire celuloid collection and making it accessible through a dedicated online platform for the first time. We built the visual identity and collateral materials that announced the project to the world, and we designed the digital platform that will ultimately house it, treating both as extensions of the same responsibility: that the visual language surrounding this archive be as considered as the films it protects. Some of the most important Romanian cinema is waiting on a reel. We made sure the world it's entering looks worthy of it.
